I have recently knitted a couple of jackets and matching hats using Blue Sky Fibers Sport weight 100% baby alpaca. This yarn retails between £11 and £14.00 per 50gm skein!!! Yes, it is expensive however, I was very lucky (I think) as I used to have my yarn store and had bought a fair amount of yarn from Blue Sky themselves so obviously cost price. So when I closed the shop it was a matter of selling of what I had and keeping anything I would use myself hence, this beautiful alpaca. I will download the photos as soon as I have added buttons, ribbons and pressed them.
These are the jobs I hate, I think a lot of us do. I love the knitting but……. sewing up and fiddly accessories ?? No, I would rather have someone do it for me. And then I leave it until I have about 4 or 5 items and make an evening of it and STILL regret it as then there are too many to do and vow will do them in future as I go along (until the next time!!)
I am also having to think about going back to work. I am a civil servant and our ‘great leader’ (Boris) wants all civil servants to set an example by going back into offices!!! Mmmmm maybe, however, I work front facing with the public and have to be careful. I am currently working from home so think I will wait until i feel i have no option!!
