Frogging!!! and More

I am currently knitting a vintage pattern of a baby matinee coat with bonnet, hat and mitts, To be honest I have ever tried a vintage pattern before but did like the look of this one. The pattern is Peter Pan P.956. This is the ink if you wish to buy it. I ordered a download from Etsy. https://www.pinterest.pt/pin/752664156447881142/.

So, this is the pattern. The pattern is easy enough once you have done a few rows it’s easy to remember. I have now got to the finishing part………..    ha ha,  for the yoke you have to attach the back, sleeves, fronts and front bands together. Easy enough, however, every time  I knit to the pattern the front bands are coming out in stocking stitch and not garter. Have now ‘frogged’ 3 times and hoping this 4th time it will work!!! I will let you know.

Here are the 7 pieces on the needles. I think what is wrong (I’m hoping I’m right) is the pattern states the 2nd row on the front bands is the right side, well I think they are the wrong side so will wait and see as I have now turned them around. Thank god for circular needles!!

I am using Debbie Bliss Rialto DK which is 100% Merino wool in Ecru. So gorgeous to knit with and drapes beautifully. I’m hoping this will be an heirloom piece as it will be going for sale in my eBay and Etsy shops (uniquebabyhandknits and https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/uniquebabyknits). Will see if it is popular as to whether I decide to knit any more vintage. There does seem to be a call for it if the amount of ‘vintage’ items being sold are anything to go by.
