Thinning hair? – Wigs/Enhancers

This is my bald spots on top of my head, you can also see how thin my hair is.

Since my cancer diagnosis and treatment, I am still taking Letrozole (equivalent of Tamoxifen just for older ladies!!) my hair is not thickening. I have been in despair since losing it all however, as it is now 2 years since treatment finished, I was hoping to have at least a fair amount of hair back, but no. It is getting increasingly thinner which I know the Letrozole is the main culprit and also old age unfortunately. I have used every shampoo known to man with no decent results. They all promise the earth but fail to deliver. I have bald patches on my crown, not totally bald but as my hair is so thin, very noticeable, no matter how I style my hair. I have done all the right things since it started growing back as in getting it cut properly on a regular basis but nothing works. I felt it was something I would just have to live with, but,I was not going to give in there had to be a solution!!!!
I could always go back to wigs; this was an option however, I didn’t really get on with them the first time round so didn’t think this time would be any different. Then, while browsing the internet, I came across hair enhancers, they clip on your crown and give you HAIR!!! I looked into them a little bit more and then waited (through lockdown) for my wig specialist to open and made an appointment for a consultation. Oh my, why did I wait so long? We found the perfect (well, I think) enhancer which gave me the thickness and a bit more length. I absolutely love it. It matches my own hair colour exactly. It just sits on my crown and clip it into my own hair with 4 clips spaced around. It is so, so comfy to wear as my own hair and fringe are not all caught up in a wig.

This is a pic of the hair enhancer. As you can see just 4 clips that clip around your crown

I must say this is the best thing I have done in a long time.

With hair!!!!

I went to see my youngest daughter the next day (I hadn’t told her what I was doing) and her response was ‘mum, your hair looks lovely have you just come from the hairdressers? Pleased? I was ecstatic, my daughter is ALWAYS my strongest critic and will always tell it as it is.

So, confirmation that enhancers are the best thing to happen to women’s hair. I go to my local hairdressers/wig specialists as they are NHS providers as well You can find them here: https://hairtoware.co.uk/ and would most certainly recommend them.
