My Projects

Cabled dog jumper

Here is my dog jacket, kindly modelled by Freddy, a tiny french bulldog. Friend was very pleased with the finished item, must say, so was I!!! As Freddy is so cute I have added a few more pics of him

I have just finished knitting a couple of baby sets for colleagues in work who are expecting babies this year. I have kept the colours neutral as not sure on gender!!

The other set is the same only in mint green and grey. They were all knitted using Sirdar Snuggly Soothing yarn which is 100% acrylic and machine washable

The patterns I used were ‘Tiny Butterflies’ by Irina Smith. This is a small car seat or crib blanket. I obtained this from Lovecrafts. Absolutely wonderful pattern. Very well written and able to easily understand. Follow this link if you would like to purchase this pattern: https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/tiny-butterflies-knitting-pattern-by-irina-smith. The jacket and hat are from mariannas lazy days babbity pattern. The octopus you can find on my free patterns page and the booties are by Daisy and Storm through this link here: https://daisyandstorm.com/2019/02/09/stash-busting-baby-booties/

My latest knitting are for a couple of cardigans and matching hats. They have been knitted in Blue Sky Fibers Sport weight (DK) and are 100% baby alpaca

The pink set is called ‘Gentle Breeze’ and the blue set is ‘Georgie’. Again these patterns are from Mariannas Lazy Days, follow this link: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/mariannas-lazy-daisy-days/patterns?page=1 This is her ravelry page where most of her patterns are free to download. I have knitted a lot of her patterns as they are great for the beginner knitter and also the more experienced.

With a new baby due anytime I have knitted some little cardigans and matching hats. They are in pink, blue and white so at least 2 of them will be ok!!! Please see below for where to obtain the pattern’s and the yarn used.

This is knitted from a pattern called the Barclay/Jordan cardigan and hat. Size is 0-3 months. I thought this was fine for a boy or girl.
The blue is a lovely boys cardigan and matching hat. The pattern is called George. This is also a size preemie.
I thought this was really girlie and pretty!! The patterns is called Danika and is size preemie.

All 3 patterns I obtained from Mariannas Lazy Daisy Days. She writes all her own patterns and there is such a huge variety. These 3 patterns were all knitted ‘top-down’ which is an absolute delight as less sewing at the end!!! Her patterns are very easy to follow and written in easy language which is great for beginners. Marianna will also answer queries through her facebook page. You can find her patterns by following the link: https://mariannaslazydaisydays.blogspot.com/ Alternatively you can find her on Love Knitting, Ravelry and Facebook. The white cardigan (Barclay/Jordan) was knitted using Debbie Bliss Eco Cotton DK which I thought would be better for a summer baby. The pink cardigan (Danika) is knitted using Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino DK. This is my all time favourite wool to knit with. Lastly, the blue cardigan (George) is knitted using Sirdar Sublime Baby Cashmere Silk DK. This is probably my second favourite yarn for babies.
